Charlotte East Community Partners will host its second annual Black Tie Gala Fundraiser 6-9 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Charlotte Museum of History. Proceeds benefit the Alexander Youth Network.
The umbrella organization represents more than 60 neighborhood associations in east Charlotte.
The gala showcases the beauty and history of east Charlotte, recognizes community achievements and honors police officers and firefighters for their service to the area.

The Bradfield Farms Homeowners Board of Directors has a vacancy and is asking all residents to consider the position. The board typically meets monthly.
To volunteer, contact a current board member and plan to attend the next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Peacock Lane Clubhouse.

The latest Yard of the Month winner in Browne's Ferry is at 3606 Browne's Ferry Road.
Buckleigh will have a fall community garage sale from 7 a.m. to noon Oct. 18.
Sales will be at homes throughout the community.
Highland Creek will host a communitywide yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 4 at Highland Creek Elementary School, 7242 Highland Creek Parkway.
Plans to have a second yard sale location at Christenbury Park have been canceled.
The sale is open to the public. Selling booths are limited to Highland Creek residents.
Larkhaven's next Homeowners Association board meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the community room at the Mint Hill Library, 6840 Matthews Mint Hill Road.
Board seats are available. Nominees should prepare a brief introduction and their reasons for running for the board.
Mallard Trace's next homeowners meeting will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Mike and Cindy McMillin, 3004 Kenninghall Court.
Villages of Wexford
Residents of the Villages of Wexford are encouraged to participate in the community's Fall Landscaping Day Oct. 4.
Neighbors will meet at 9 a.m. at the Flint Green Island and work toward the community's other islands. The event will go on rain or shine.

Wellington's annual garage sale will be 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at various homes.
Signs will direct buyers to streets with participating homes. A variety of items, from furniture to knickknacks, will be sold.
