Charlotte East Community Partners will host its second annual Black Tie Gala Fundraiser 6-9 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Charlotte Museum of History. Proceeds benefit the Alexander Youth Network.

The umbrella organization represents more than 60 neighborhood associations in east Charlotte.

The gala showcases the beauty and history of east Charlotte, recognizes community achievements and honors police officers and firefighters for their service to the area.

Bradfield Farms

The Bradfield Farms Homeowners Board of Directors has a vacancy and is asking all residents to consider the position. The board typically meets monthly.

To volunteer, contact a current board member and plan to attend the next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Peacock Lane Clubhouse.

Volunteers will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. It's available by e-mail or by calling board president Bill Colyer.



Bradfield Farms residents are reminded that they must re-register for the neighborhood Web site's Community Chat due to new software.

The new software will send a confirmation/verification e-mail to the address supplied. Residents must click on the link within four days, or they will have to re-register again.

Browne's Ferry

Browne's Ferry will have a community yard sale Saturday.

Residents must obtain a permit from Mecklenburg County. For information, see the Browne's Ferry “Banner” newsletter.



The latest Yard of the Month winner in Browne's Ferry is at 3606 Browne's Ferry Road.

Buckleigh

Buckleigh will have a fall community garage sale from 7 a.m. to noon Oct. 18.

Sales will be at homes throughout the community.

Highland Creek

Highland Creek will host a communitywide yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 4 at Highland Creek Elementary School, 7242 Highland Creek Parkway.

Plans to have a second yard sale location at Christenbury Park have been canceled.

The sale is open to the public. Selling booths are limited to Highland Creek residents.

Larkhaven

Larkhaven's next Homeowners Association board meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the community room at the Mint Hill Library, 6840 Matthews Mint Hill Road.

Board seats are available. Nominees should prepare a brief introduction and their reasons for running for the board.

Mallard Trace

Mallard Trace's next homeowners meeting will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Mike and Cindy McMillin, 3004 Kenninghall Court.

Villages of Wexford

Residents of the Villages of Wexford are encouraged to participate in the community's Fall Landscaping Day Oct. 4.

Neighbors will meet at 9 a.m. at the Flint Green Island and work toward the community's other islands. The event will go on rain or shine.

Wellington

Wellington's annual garage sale will be 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at various homes.

Signs will direct buyers to streets with participating homes. A variety of items, from furniture to knickknacks, will be sold.
