Early voting starts Oct. 16 at several sites

Union County voters get ready: One-stop or early voting starts Oct. 16 for the Nov. 4 general election.

One-stop voting allows eligible voters to register and cast their ballots in one visit to polling places. One-stop voting runs Mondays through Saturdays through Nov. 1.

Hours are the same for all locations except the Union County Public Library's main branch in Monroe.

Day and hours for Hemby Bridge, Stallings and Wesley Chapel volunteer fire departments and the Wingate Community Center will be: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. Addresses for these voting spots are:



Hemby Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, 6628 Mill Grove Road, Hemby Bridge.



Stallings Volunteer Fire Department, 4616 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail.



Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, 8821 New Town Road, Waxhaw.



Wingate Community Center, 315 W. Elm St., Wingate.

Voting hours are different for the public library's main branch in Monroe. Hours are: 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. Address for the main library is:
