City and county government will join with other organizations in sponsoring the Festival of Safety on Saturday at three locations across Mecklenburg County.
The event will focus on the various health andf safety resources available in the community. The festival is designed to heighten awareness of domestic violence issues, crime prevention, family health, and Halloween safety.
The festival will include activities, prizes and food. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Chief Rodney Monroe and Mecklenburg County Sheriff Chipp Bailey will participate.
There is no admission charge to the event.
The festival is scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at these sites:
Arbor Glen Recreation Center and Park, 1520 Clanton Road, west Charlotte.
Jetton Park, 19000 Jetton Road, Cornelius.
Marion Diehl Recreation Center, 2219 Tyvola Road, southwest Charlotte.
