Mary Cassatt's Madame X: A Masterpiece from the Charlotte and Philip Hanes Collection:

In honor of Mary Cassatt's portrait, "Madame X Dressed for the Matinee," the Mint Museum has organized a spotlight exhibition. Mary Cassatt was the only American invited to exhibit with the French Impressionists and the first artist from this country to adopt their groundbreaking style and subject matter. This dashing three-quarter length portrait, executed soon after Cassatt met Edgar Degas, has been included in numerous important exhibitions around the world. 10 a.m. Dec. 15-19, 21-26, 28-31. A Christmas Carol:

This version of Charles Dickens' novel captures the magic and mystique of the original. As Dickens narrates, the story unfolds on stage around him: the classic tale of the hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas, is visited by the ghost of his late partner, Jacob Marley. Marley urges scrooge to change his ways. This visit is followed by the appearances of three other ghosts-the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. .
