Firebirds

Closed in early December after being damaged in a fire, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill at Stonecrest has reopened. Plenty of steaks, chicken and pork specialties are to be had at this Colorado-themed eatery, as well as their own reserve wines.

Chef Steve Jordan's new restaurant is open and serving a mix of upscale menu items like Maine lobster rolls and casual comfort foods like meatloaf and pecan-fried catfish. The pot roast and shrimp and grits are both recommended; bottles of wine are half off on Tuesdays.

Taco Mac

Anderson Valley Brewing Co. from Boonville, Calif., is the selected brewery for Taco Mac's beer dinner Jan. 12. Reception and hors d'oeuvres begin at 6:30 p.m., dinner is served at 7. Taco Mac is known for its multi-course beer dinners highlighting breweries from around the world. The South Park location offers 140 beers on draft and 200 in the bottle. Reservations for the dinner can be made online under the "beer dinner" tab on the website.
