Police have identified the man who was fatally shot Sunday at an east Charlotte apartment complex.
On Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police publicly identified the victim as Guy J. Stewart, 44. The shooter, who has apparently not been charged in the incident, has not been named by police.
Just after 10 p.m. Sunday, police were called to Hunting Ridge Lane, off Idlewild Road. There, officers found Stewart suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene minutes later.
Police said the shooter, who knew Stewart, lives in the apartment where the shooting happened and called 911. Police have not described the circumstances leading up to the killing but said the shooter was cooperating with the investigation.
