Free stuff in Charlotte: Easter-themed events abound


Easter Party at Romare Bearden Park

Fri 11 a.m. Romare Bearden Park, 300 S. Church St.

Bring the kids for live entertainment and an egg hunt. At 11 a.m., the Cara Zara Hula Hoop Show will entertain, followed by the Ken and Kyle Juggling Show and Amy Arpan Illusion Show. The egg hunt starts at 1:30 p.m.


Carolina Raptor Center at ImaginOn

Sat 11 a.m.-1 p.m. ImaginOn, 300 E. Seventh St.

Meet some birds and learn about different kinds of birds of prey and the work that Carolina Raptor Center does to rehabilitate them and release them, when possible, into the wild.


Earth Night Out

Fri 5-9 p.m. Downtown Salisbury.

This month’s Friday Night Out series will feature free trolley rides, the Lord Salisbury Easter Egg Hunt, live music by the Marc Hoffman Trio on East Fisher Street, a rock climbing wall, horse and carriage rides and face-painting for kids.


Fort building in the woods

Participants of all ages will have fun building forts in the woods from natural materials.


Free night at Mint Museum

Every Wednesday evening is free at the Mint. This week, be sure to check out “Allure of Flowers: Botanical Motifs in Craft, Design, & Fashion” at Mint Museum Uptown. This exhibition, which is drawn from the museum’s permanent collection, is organized by flower type and illustrates how the depiction of the same flowers has evolved over time.
