Mother’s Day at the Garden

Moms can visit Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden for free all weekend. The first 250 moms each day also will receive a free potted plant. Each hour, starting at 10 a.m., there will be a complimentary 30-minute yoga session in the White Garden. Other members of the family pay normal admission rates.

Kids and moms are invited to a Mother’s Day party with games, crafts and prizes at the EpiCentre. Radio Disney will provide entertainment and music.

New Southern Ramblers, a dynamic, old-time Appalachian string band from Western North Carolina, take the stage. Doors open at 7. Refreshments, a song circle and jam sessions follow the concert. Donations accepted.
Charlotte Symphony Guild Musical Petting Zoo

The Musical Petting Zoo offers a chance for children to look at, listen to and try out orchestra instruments.

Discovery Place and Charlotte Amateur Astronomers Club will provide telescopes on top of the Discovery Place parking deck. The evening will begin with an astronomy presentation and include a recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Charlotte Amateur Astronomers Club. Afterwards guests will explore the night sky with telescopes. Parking is free on the parking deck, too.
