Enjoy a free glass of wine on a summer evening

In addition to exploring the galleries for free, visitors can also enjoy music by Sai the Violinist. There will be a cash bar, discounts at the museum shop and one free wine refill.


“Made in 1984: Hollywood Movies from 30 Years Ago”

This six-film series, presented by Sam Shapiro, has looked back on 1984 through a group of popular, diverse films from a variety of genres. In this final installment, catch the award-winning “Amadeus,” starring F. Murray Abraham as Mozart.


Drop-in Day Camp

Thur 10:30. Gaston County Museum, 131 W. Main St., Dallas.

This summerlong camp about different Gaston County occupations in the 1800s ends Thursday with a program on textile mills. For 90 minutes, kids will enjoy hands-on activities, games and crafts. Designed for children ages 5-12, but parents, toddler siblings and grandparents are invited.


Go Fish

The Christian music band Go Fish will perform in a free concert for families. The concert is open to everyone, but if you’re planning to bring a group of 20 or more, call 704-341-5349 to reserve space.


Party in the Park

Wed 5:30 p.m. Romare Bearden Park, 300 S. Church St.

Enjoy a midweek music break with The Entertainers, who play beach and party music. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. You can bring your own picnic or purchase food and drink at the event.
