She’s a Republican; he’s a Democrat. But they both fervently believe we must move beyond the political dysfunction that prevents us from solving the nation’s most urgent challenges.
At 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Booth Playhouse in Uptown Charlotte, the Charlotte Observer and Bank of America invite the public to hear former Maine Senator Olympia Snowe and former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman discuss how America can, and must, return to constructive political discourse. Former White House Chief of Staff and UNC System President Erskine Bowles will moderate the evening.
Snowe and Glickman co-chair the Bipartisan Policy Center's 29-member Commission on Political Reform, which is barnstorming the nation to educate policymakers and voters on its plan to re-establish bipartisanship in Washington.
The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. It ends with a dessert and wine reception. Registration encouraged.
