Clover chamber names new director

Andrea Meglii has been named executive director for the Greater Clover Chamber of Commerce.

Meglii, who has lived in Clover for a decade and operated two downtown businesses, assumes the job in a full-time role. She replaces previous director Jackie Robinson, who served in a part-time capacity.

Meglii said she also will be working with the Clover’s economic development board. She said she looks forward to working with the community and growing membership in the chamber.

“A lot of things are going on here that people don’t seem to know about, so I hope to let people know about them,” said Meglii, 39.

Meglii said Clover has a lot to offer, with a strong school district, a family-oriented community and a location minutes from Charlotte, N.C., Rock Hill and Gastonia, N.C.

“You can be involved in small-town activities, but you also are close enough to the big cities where if you want to do something, you can,” she said.

Meglii said she grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. She took business administration classes, including marketing and advertising, at the College of The Albermalre.

She moved to Clover 10 years ago after meeting and marrying her husband, Craig Meglii, a cost accountant for Aramark in Huntersville, N.C. They have four children, ranging in age from 10 to 20.

Meglii said upcoming chamber activities, in partnership with the town of Clover, include a Dec. 5 Christmas tree lighting, a Dec. 6 Merry Artisan bazaar at the Clover Fire Department and the Dec. 7 Clover Christmas parade.

Meglii said chamber office hours will continue to be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday to Friday because some of her responsibilities require her to be out of the office. For details, call the chamber at 803-222-3312 or visit the website
