Fort Mill band captures state 4A title, Northwestern 4th, York 6th

The Fort Mill High School Marching Band took first place among 15 bands competing at the South Carolina Band Directors Association’s 4A State Championship on Saturday in Columbia.

The Northwestern High School Purple Regiment placed fourth in the competition, and the York Comprehensive Cougar Band finished sixth.

The Nation Ford High School Band performed in exhibition at the end of the competition.

The South Pointe High School Band of Thunder placed third at the 3A State Championship, and the Indian Land High School Warrior Band took fourth in the 2A State Championship.

On Saturday, the Rock Hill High School Band of Distinction and the Clover High School Marching Band will compete in the 5A State Championship in Irmo.
