Walmart is hiring for its Neighborhood Market grocery store slated to open this winter on Cherry Road.
The store will employ about 95 people in both full- and part-time positions. A temporary hiring center has opened at 1037 Oakland Ave.
Applications are being accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants also may apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.
Qualified veterans who have been honorably discharged are eligible for Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment program.
Store manager Phillip Cook said, “We’re not just hiring for jobs, we’re hiring for careers. I started as an hourly cart associate, and worked my way up.”
Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time employees including healthcare coverage, a 401(k) program, discounts on general merchandise, a stock purchase program and company-paid life insurance.
The majority of new associates will begin work in January to help prepare the store for its grand opening, Cook said.
