For those who make fitness a priority, consider Garmin’s Vivosmart activity tracker. Wear it on your wrist to monitor your steps, distance and calories. Note: this one does not keep tabs on heart rate. Vivosmart has lots of other features to make up for that. Synced to your smartphone, it can notify you of calls, text messages and emails. Use touches and swipes to see the information in the (small) display area. Vivosmart also can display notifications. Wake up the OLED display by giving it a tap to check for updates.
Vivosmart also can sync your fitness data to the Garmin Connect app, which uses charts, maps and graphics to convey data. $170 at buy.garmin.com.
