The Catawba Nation, with the assistance of the Catawba Cultural Preservation Project, held its Fall Festival Saturday, celebrating the tribe’s heritage with traditional dancing and drumming. The event included “A Journey Through Time,” exhibit with more than 10,000 examples of implements and projectiles from the collection of Lindsay Walker and the Dr. Simpson Collection. Carey Tilley, executive director of the Culture & Heritage Museums; Richard Chacon, a Winthrop University department of sociology and anthropology professor, made presentations.
