How Long Cockatoos Remember People They Love
As one of the smartest bird species on the planet, Cockatoos are capable of remembering people they love for many years. Some studies suggest they may even remember their people throughout the span of their whole lives, which can be multiple decades (50 to 60 years or more) when living domestically.
This has to do with the strong bonds these social, extremely intelligent birds form with their human "flock," making it easy-peasy to remember our faces, routines, and voices. Some Parrots might hold a grudge and show it when reunited with a parent, but others are just thrilled to see them again.
