Ten-year-old AnneLeigh Twer, the first Junior Honoree of the W.I.S.H. Society (Women Inspiring Strength and Hope), spent her summer helping to raise money for Make-A-Wish kids. One of her efforts: the group’s first Daddy-Daughter Date Night, held Sept. 12 and co-hosted by Chima Brazilian Steakhouse uptown. The night included dinner, dancing, dessert and a motivational talk by Stuart Stout, father of Hope Stout, whose wish before dying in 2004 was to grant the wishes of 155 children on the waiting list at the time. Proceeds from the evening benefited Make-A-Wish of Central and Western North Carolina.
