It’s hard to believe that on Sunday, I will have been married for a whole year. It feels like the year flew by, almost as fast as our wedding day. I love how wedding anniversary gifts have been outlined for us. This takes away some of the pressure of picking the perfect gift, having a category to choose from. First anniversary gifts are traditionally paper. This one gives so much freedom as you can purchase everything from monogrammed stationery to tickets to an event to a framed photograph to a special book. I love this anniversary book from Uncommon Goods. The options for a paper gift are endless. My husband and I have already given each other our gifts, two tickets to paradise, or St. Martin, but it will be our paradise for a week. For five year anniversaries, the traditional gift is wood. Here, I think a weekend trip to a log cabin, a piece of artwork on wood, a set of corn hole boards or a pair of rocking chairs would be the perfect gift. If you’re like us and love adventures together, plan a trip to Yosemite National Park to see the giant redwoods. Ten is a little tricky with its tin/aluminum category. I think of tools, a nice set of pots and pans (especially if the last time you got some was your wedding!), or a set of bikes for the two of you to ride around on together. Anniversaries are a time to celebrate and reflect. While we have given each other an amazing trip that we’re both looking forward to, we’re equally as excited to spend this weekend together, get all gussied up, go to dinner and dig into our cake. They say if you can make it through the first year, then you’re golden. Cheers to many more happy years, chances to travel together, times lean on each other, and falling deeper in love.
