At Last

After almost nine years of dating, Terrell Felder proposed to Adriana Flores. “We always knew we were going to get married, it was just a matter of when,” says Adriana of her high school sweetheart, who currently works in Chicago as a structural engineer. “We gave up on the idea of what was a standard love story, because of our distance from each other. We created our own love story.”

With an eye for detail and a heart for tradition, Adriana had a specific vision for her wedding gown. “I knew I didn’t want a trumpet or mermaid gown,” says Adriana. “I knew I wanted to be traditional; my mother was my inspiration for my look.” Dress designer Brooke Priddy of Ship to Shore studio created a one-of-a-kind gown with incredible details.

As for the reception, Adriana collaborated closely with planner Ashley Cash of The Graceful Host. From the elaborate draping of moss in the reception area to the rich soft fabrics and countless candles, the two created an atmosphere of garden romance.

Adriana and Terrell wanted to make the day a celebration for everyone. “During the wedding there was a feeling of love because we have such a long history together. We were extremely picky with the guest list,” says Adriana. All 180 guests danced the night away—literally—with the newlyweds during the epic eight-hour reception.
