Uptown Affair

After a romantic weekend in San Francisco ended with a proposal, Tessia Zawilinski and Nick Pash knew exactly where they wanted to get married. “We love uptown Charlotte,” says Tessia. “We wanted to have our wedding at a place where our family and friends could come enjoy the city.” A year and a half later, the couple, who met on a blind date, exchanged vows in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Tessia wore Vera Wang and her mother’s cathedral length veil from the 1970s. “My mother’s veil was such a special detail,” adds Tessia.Between the ceremony and the Uptown reception at Roof With a View, the bridal party took a bus around the city to snap photos. “That was one of my favorite parts of the day,” says Nick. Tessia agrees: “It was so fun to get to show our family and friends our favorite spots around Charlotte.”Surrounded by beautiful views of the city, the reception was an elegant affair. The main courses were prepared by Roots and followed by a two-tiered mint green cake and cupcakes from Wow Factor Cakes. The guests also enjoyed a special treat handmade by Tessia’s mother—cake pops with silver pearls and the couple’s new duogram. Since their wedding, the Pashes relocated for Nick’s job and bought their first home in Michigan, making their Queen City affair even more special.
