Condom Couture Fashion Show: Local designers use condoms to create fashionable, wearable art at this benefit for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. Eco Fashion with a Carolina Flair: A fashion show of designs created by teams from CMS high schools using materials that can be recycled by Mecklenburg County. The teams will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes from event sponsors Coca-Cola Bottling, ReCommunity, Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful, Publix and Mecklenburg County Solid Waste. 4:45 p.m. Saturday on the Entertainment stage at the Southern Spring Home & Garden Show. Polished Nail Bar Expands: Polished Nail Bar, a local chain of nail salons owned by Haley Tran and Sonny Kim, plans to renovate its South Boulevard location in April and open in Huntersville’s Northcross Commons in June. Another location at Waverly, a new development coming to south Charlotte at Providence Road and Ardrey Kell, is planned for 2016.
