Charlotte nail bar creates own coats

Polished, the nail bar with four Charlotte-area locations (and plans for Huntersville and south Charlotte’s Waverly development), now has its own formulation for the base and top coats used in gel manicures.

The goal? Longer-lasting. Co-owner Sonny Kim says they’re guaranteeing a gel manicure done with these products will last at least 14 days. If it doesn’t, you can get it fixed for no additional charge. (But you do have to show a receipt to prove you had the original work done at a Polished site.)

“We listened to our customers and saw an opportunity,” Kim said in a news release. Other aspects of the manicure (LED lights for curing; the use of acetone and foils to remove polish) are the same, and the new base and top coats work with other brands of gel polish.
