What: Geometric designs – hexagons, rectangles, squares, triangles and circle necklaces and earrings made from a combination of matte porcelain and 14-karat gold fill. Imagine 9-to-5 meets dinner and cocktails. Prices for earrings and necklaces range from $56 to $84.
Who: ASH Jewelry Studio was born out of necessity when owner Ashlee Meadow’s husband was laid off from his job. “I had a BFA in ceramics (from Brigham Young University) and had been creating with clay for many years, so the technical expertise was there, but I decided it was time to learn a bit more about the business side.” ASH has proven to be a satisfying creative outlet and a validating endeavor, she says.
How: Meadows’ experimentation draws upon her technical experience working with clay. During college she learned about building with clay, surface techniques and firing processes, which have been essential as she’s honed her unique process. When it comes to clay, porcelain is the finest, smoothest and whitest, she says. “Because of the refined qualities I love to leave a portion of my pieces unglazed,” Meadows says. “Other types of clay would feel rough and chalky, but unglazed porcelain feels smooth while still feeling a bit raw.”
What’s in a name: Ash was Meadow’s childhood nickname, but she hadn’t considered using it for her business until a friend suggested it. “I wanted a name that was short and modern, but also versatile. And, I guess it makes sense because each piece is created by me with my own hands.”

Inspiration: “My pieces are influenced by everything I see whether that is a work of art, a part of nature, or a beautiful Instagram photo,” she says, adding that the actual process of creating is most inspiring. “When I create something I’m often inspired to create something more … take it one step further and then even one more step. Hopefully, at the end I have something more beautiful or more interesting than the initial piece.”
Favorite piece: “My favorite piece lately is the vertical triangle stud earrings in pink. I find myself wanting to wear them daily because they are modern yet feminine at the same time.”
