Heroes and hippies hit our largest screen Friday in a double feature at Discovery Place.
The America's Fallen Heroes Fund is bringing its tour of the films “Alexander – Hero of Heroes” and “Starfire – the Magic, the Music” to the Omnimax theater at 301 N. Tryon St.
“Alexander” starts at 6:30 p.m. and tells of the Greek conqueror whose empire spread across much of the known world two millennia ago.
“Starfire” follows at 9; it's a compendium of images from the 1960s, set to music and other sounds of that tumultuous period.
The event benefits the nonprofit AFHF, which is attempting to raise millions of dollars for families of American service personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can find out more about the fund atwww.americasfallenheroes fund.com.
