Go retro at theater

If it's summer, it must be time for Ballantyne Village to rev up its Retro Series.

The cinema at Johnston Road and Ballantyne Commons Parkway is doing another lineup of classics, cult favorites and oddities.

Films run Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets: $5 general admission, $7 reserved leather seats.

“Tommy,” director Ken Russell's extravagant adaptation of The Who's rock opera about a deaf, mute and blind boy, started the series on June 20-21. Here's the full list of pictures:
