Want to swap cookbooks?

Have an old cookbook you want to pass on – or can you give an old cookbook a new home? The Tailgate, the farmer's market in South End, will try a new event this Saturday:

A cookbook exchange.

Market manager Lynn Shanklin Caldwell is encouraging customers to bring old cookbooks for a cookbook swap with other customers. The swap will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday. There's no cost, just an even exchange.

“I've been cleaning out, and find that I have many cookbooks I never use,” Caldwell wrote in this week's market newsletter. “I'll bet that you do too.”

The Tailgate, on Camden Road at West Park Avenue, is held on Tuesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For details on the market, go to
