Reserve lunch at CPCC’s Greenway Restaurant

Central Piedmont Community College’s Greenway Restaurant is accepting reservations of up to four people for lunch at 11:30 a.m., noon or 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17-20 and 24-26. Culinary arts students prepare a three-course lunch featuring contemporary, bistro-style entrees. The pre-prepared lunch is $12 plus tax, payable by credit/debit card only. Greenway is located at 425 N. Kings Drive, in the Philip L. Van Every Culinary Arts Center. Free bagels Thursday

In recognition of National Bagel Day on Feb. 9, Thomas’ will be giving out free bagels and “Bagel Thins” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the center court of SouthPark mall, 4400 Sharon Road. In addition to bagels and toppings, representatives will be giving out free items such as lunch bags and chances to win a $5,000 gift card. Details:

Scouting for Food

Mecklenburg County Boy Scouts’ “Scouting for Food” benefit for Loaves & Fishes will continue to run through Sunday. Priority items include canned meats, canned pastas, cereal, canned fruit and 100 percent fruit juice. In 2012, Loaves & Fishes fed more than 125,000 people in Mecklenburg County. Preliminary numbers from the Feb. 1 collection date show the drive could top the 250,000 pounds of food collected last year, officials said. Food donations can still be dropped off at any Mecklenburg County Harris Teeter store through Sunday. Details:

Name the Mermaid contest

As part of its “100 Years of Good” initiative, Chicken of the Sea will award $10,000 to the winning entry of its “Name the Mermaid” contest. The brand’s famous mermaid logo has been nameless for 62 years. Entries will be accepted through Feb. 14. The winner will be announced March 6. Details and to enter:

Bo-Berry Biscuits

Through Feb. 16, Bojangles’ will offer two heart-shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits for 99 cents. Topped with dessert icing, the festively shaped biscuits are available throughout the day, also in orders of a half-dozen and dozen. Details:
