With the World Cup starting this weekend, eyes all over the world will be focused not just on the games, but on the country where they’re played – Brazil.
It might feel like you’re closer to being there if you watch the games with the Brazilian national drink in hand. The caipirinha (ky-pee-REE-nya) is made with cachaca, a high-powered liquor similar to rum because they’re both made from sugarcane, and lime and sugar.
This recipe comes from “Cocktails for the Four Seasons” (Peter Pauper Press, $10.95), a handy little cocktail recipe book written by two food bloggers, Jenny Park and Teri Lyn Fisher. Note that they’ve swapped the traditional cane sugar for light brown sugar.
