Get a taste of Thanksgiving

Savory Spice Shop at Atherton Mill, 2000 South Blvd., will hold a tasting and cooking demonstration event in time for the holidays. Look for Tenashia Pharms on using harissa (10-11:30 a.m.); Alyssa Gorelick on turkey (11 a.m.-1 p.m.); Heidi Billotto on Scotch quail eggs (12:30-2 p.m.); and Craig Rudewicz of Crude Bitters & Sodas of Raleigh on holiday drinks (1-3 p.m.). It’s all free.

Renfrow Farms

opens in Matthews

Fans of local and sustainable food have a new location in Matthews: The Renfrow Farms Market will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays with produce and raw honey. Look for the weekly on-farm market at 409 W. Charles St. in Matthews.
