Dean Mullis heads back to the farm – his own

Well, I have done it. Put in my notice at work ...

I will be back on our farm in a couple of weeks. Don’t know if it was the right thing to do but it will be the fun thing to do.

I have already ordered 250 pounds of seed potatoes from Maine, 4,000 onion plants from Texas, and 100 barred rock layer chicks and 75 cornish rock broiler chicks from Iowa.

I have this crazy idea of growing 20-30 different lettuce varieties this spring. I have been looking through too many evil seed catalogs.

It is going to take 4-6 months to get our farm back up and rolling to 100 percent. Volunteers welcome. Will trade and barter for services with mechanics and carpenters.
