Don’t fret, Charlotte cheese fans: Yes, Orrman’s Cheese Shop is headed to Raleigh. But it’s not leaving Charlotte. It just means there will be more cheesy goodness for everyone.

Rachel Klebaur announced Wednesday morning that she has bought the location of Six Forks Cheese, a small cheese shop in North Raleigh’s Lafayette Village, and will open her own cheese shop there.

The Orrman’s Cheese booth has become an anchor at the 7th Street Public Market. Even though she only has a couple of glass cases, she has offered a carefully chosen collection of imported and domestic cheese. Her new space in Raleigh, at 8490 Honeycutt Road, won’t be that much bigger – 13 feet in the case instead of 4 feet. But she hopes to have more opportunities to showcase cheeses and offer classes.

Klebaur’s background in cheese included a stint working at Murray’s Cheese and Lucy’s Whey in New York. At Orrman’s, she included N.C. cheeses, such as Una Alla Volta and Fishing Creek, among her collection along with great cheeses from across the country.
