January is a slow month for dining out (thanks, ice and no-show snow). So chefs have to get creative to stir up excitement.
So, on Jan. 24, Paul Verica of Heritage in Waxhaw and Aaron Rivera of Tapas 51 in Fort Mill will trade places.
In a Padma Lakshmi-like twist, they have to do each other’s food. So Verica and his crew will get Latin American, while Rivera and his crew will do a Heritage-style farm-focused menu.
Reservations are suggested. Both places will offer full menus, with prices in the same range they usually charge. For Heritage, that usually runs $3 to $10 for small plates and snacks, $22 to $39 for full plates with locally raised ingredients.
