Summit Coffee, the coffee business that started in downtown Davidson, is adding a new location in an innovative spot.

Brian Helfrich, co-owner of Summit with his brother Tim, says that Summit has partnered with Swim Club Management Group and the Town of Huntervisville to operate a coffee and food program in the Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics center.

The Summit cafe will include an espresso bar with coffee and tea, nitro cold brew and kombucha on tap, a smoothie menu and a small, health-focused food menu. The food will be made on site, and Summit will include a catering line.

The store will replace an existing cafe space at the fitness center and will be open to the public.

Summit already announced an expansion into Asheville’s River Arts District with a new coffee house that opens this month. The Huntersville location will begin renovations in early September with a target date of Oct. 9.

Helfrich says Summit has been interested in locations in Huntersville for a while.

“It’s a quickly growing town, and we have been flirting with retail locations throughout Huntersville for some time.”
