October is here, and that’s when big food events crank up all over Charlotte.
The next one is coming Oct. 16, when the “Order/Fire” chef documentary series comes off the screen and into the kitchen for Order Together, a collaborative dinner featuring 17 chefs, mixologists and food producers.
It happens at 6 p.m. at Heirloom, and features a seven-course dinner cooked by a Charlotte food Who’s Who: Jamie Lynch of 5Church/Sofia’s; Greg Auten, Pinky’s Westside Grill; Clark Barlowe, Heirloom; Jamie Swofford, The Chef’s Farmer; Greg Collier, The Yolk Cafe; Paul Verica, Heritage Food & Drink; Alyssa Wilen, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen; Chris Coleman, Stoke; Luca Annunziata, Luca’s Modern Italian Kitchen; Matthew Krenz, The Asbury @ The Dunhill; Rocco Whalen, Fahrenheit Charlotte; Blake Hartwick, Bonterra; Ashley Bivens Boyd, 300 East and Heritage; Miranda Brown, 300 East; Bob Peters, The Punch Room; and Jason and Jeff Alexander, Free Range Brewing.
All of them have been involved in “Order/Fire,” which is produced by photographer Peter Taylor and chef Marc Jacksina.
Tickets are $125 and include a cocktail and beer pairings. The dinner, which includes a silent auction, raffle and merchandise sales, will raise money to cover production costs for the third season, which will include episodes in Wilmington and other cities in the region.
