Food Council wants to know: What’s on your plate, Charlotte?

Do you buy seasonal food at a local market? Or are you struggling in a neighborhood with no access to fresh food?

Where do you buy your food? What kind of food do you buy? And when you get it, what do you do with it?

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council has launched a survey, State of the Plate, to find out where, when, what and how we buy our food. Working with Johnson C. Smith University, the survey is for residents of Mecklenburg County. It’s short - I took it myself this morning and spent less than 10 minutes.

Grab a few minutes this morning to fill it out. I’ve lived in Charlotte for 30 years, and I know this is a very different place, foodwise, than it was just a few years ago. The final results will be released in November. Should be interesting.
