The popular food event Taste of the World, a culinary tour of East Charlotte, returns in October and tickets are on sale now.

If you’ve never done it, you buy a $45 ticket and get a seat on a tour bus that visits three of the 26 restaurants on the list, where you’re greeted with a food sampling and a presentation on the food, culture, history and story of the restaurant. At the end, all the guests return to The VanLandingham Estate for a dessert reception with music, festivities and prizes.

If you want to be involved but you don’t want to just ride along and eat, there are also opportunities for volunteers to help with all the moving parts of the evening.

This year’s tour is 4:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 1. To get tickets and more details, go to charlotteeast.com.
