Wanted: Someone who loves farmers markets, has great organizing skills, and doesn’t mind working really hard on Saturday mornings.

Courtney Spear, the manager of the Davidson Farmers Market, announced this week that she’s stepping down. Her oldest sons are in high school, and that means Saturdays loaded with sports, college visits and a lot of obligations.

So the market board has launched a search committee to find the right person to step into her job. The Davidson market, which is next to the Town Hall between Main and Jackson streets, has grown quickly and now operates 43 Saturday mornings a year between April and March. It has a strong team of volunteers, and 5013C status as a nonprofit.

If you’re interested in applying, send an email to kjstierli@mi-connection.com. Get details on the market at www.davidsonfarmersmarket.org, or mail your resume to DFM, P.O. Box 2534, Davidson, NC 28036.
