Their intentions are apparently very pure, and they have proof: Charlotte’s Pure Intentions Coffee has completed the USDA’s organic certification, making it the only Fair Trade & Organic Certified coffee roaster in Charlotte.

Owned by Matt Yarmey, who started out as a hobbyist roasting coffee at home before starting a business in 2011, Pure Intentions now has a number of types of coffee, including Black Hat Espresso Blend, Colombian Decaf, Ethiopian, Sumatran and Warehouse Blend. It’s served at a long list of local restaurants and events, and is sold by the bag ($12.99 for 12 ounces on their website, www.pureintentionscoffee.com, or at a number of local-foodcentric places like Earl’s Grocery, Rhino Market, Common Market and Pasta & Provisions.

In other news: They’ve redesigned their bags, working with designer Rachel Martin.
