Would free wine help your Friday end well?

Slogging it out until the end of the day? Here’s a little hope to keep you going: The Wine Shop Dilworth, which recently moved to a new space at 911 E. Morehead St., is restarting its Free Friday wine tastings.

It starts at 5 p.m. on Fridays. You get a 1-ounce pour of four wines, plus crackers and cheese. If that’s not enough, you can turn to the tasting station, where tastes vary from 60 cents up to $4.

To kick it off tonight, March 4, they’re also doing a drawing for a bottle of 2002 Nicolas Feuillatte Palmes d’Or Champagne valued at $140. The drawing is at 6:30 p.m., so get there in time to add your name to the pool.

And on another note, since parking space is limited in front of the store, manager Brian DuBois is spreading the word that the store has gotten permission to use the big parking lot before Mrs. Howard and Max & Co. after 5 p.m. on Fridays. DuBois attached his own drawing with arrows to show you how to find it. If you come up Morehead from Kenilworth Avenue, it’s easy to pull in on the right before the white building. The wine shop is in the row of shops before the future site of Meat & Fish Co. at the corner with McDowell Street.
