If you’ve gotten used to ducking into the 7th Street Public Market just to stamp your parking pass for the 7th Street Station parking garage, you need to cut that out.
Charlotte Center City Partners is tightening up on the parking policy. Now, you’ll need to prove you bought something.
“The parking validation has always operated on the honor system, and we appreciate the overwhelming majority of patrons who used the system honestly,” says Adam Rhew, director of communications from CCCP. “However, due to a small number of people who took advantage of the free parking without supporting the market's small businesses, we are forced to make changes.”
You can still park free in 7th Street Station if you’re in the market to shop or eat. But now you’ll need to take your parking ticket and your proof of purchase to either Greeneman Farms or Local Loaf to get it validated.
