Former Charlottean on ‘Masterchef’
Dan Paustian, who was raised in Charlotte before moving to Los Angeles, has been picked for the seventh season of the Fox competition show “MasterChef,” hosted by Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi. Paustian, 26, who attended Charlotte Country Day School and graduated from UNC, is now a server at the L.A. restaurant Salt’s Cure.
Talking, drinking and eating
Craft is the theme of “A Meeting of Crafts: Beer, Chocolate and Storytelling” at 7 p.m. June 18 at the Secret Chocolatier, 11318 N. Community House Road in Ballantyne. The evening features three beers supplied by Growler USA paired with desserts and chocolate by the Secret Chocolatier, while nationally known storyteller Faye Fulton spins tales. Matthews market turns 25
The Matthews Community Farmers’ Market, the first grower-only market in the area when it opened, will celebrate its 25th anniversary all summer with a fundraising campaign.
