SkillPop, the company that offers pop-up classes on everything Millennial, from hand-lettering to social media to eating and drinking, will take its act on the road to the Triangle starting this fall.
SkillPop founder Haley Bohon announced Tuesday that she’s expanding to Raleigh starting in September.
“Charlotte will always be special to us,” Bohon said in her announcement. “It’s where we started.”
SkillPop classes mostly are taught by people who are specialists in their subject. They’re usually one session, often offered at night, and typically cost $20 to $40, depending on the supplies needed. The classes rely heavily on social media to draw participants.

While anyone can sign up for a class, the subjects focus heavily on life skills that interest the under-40 set. July’s list of classes in Charlotte are typical of the company’s eclectic selection: Coffee Essentials July 23 at Free Range Brewing, Coffee & Chocolate Pairings July 21 at The Daily Details, Handlettering July 19, Instagram Workshop July 25, Master the At-Home Blowout July 25, How to Buy A House on July 26, Podcasting Essentials on July 27, and Floral Watercolors on July 27. Locations move around depending on the needs of the class.
