State suspends Unique Living's license

The state has suspended the license of Unique Living following last week's disappearance of a mentally ill woman from the troubled adult care home in Fallston.

A letter delivered to the Cleveland County facility this morning orders the home to be closed by midnight Friday. Cleveland County agencies are now working to relocate about 50 residents to other adult care homes and mental health group homes.

Last week, Mouy Tang, a 46-year-old woman with diabetes and schizophrenia, wandered from the home. She has not been found. Family members have blamed state officials for failing to heed the county's June request to take over the facility, which has been plagued by problems.

Unique is the only adult care home in Cleveland County.
