World AIDS Day
Local celebrities will share stories about friends and family living with HIV and AIDS on World AIDS Day Monday through The Voices Project, a collaborative theater production developed by the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network and the Mecklenburg County Health Department. The event, presented by Wells Fargo, Kiss 95.1 and Power 98, is at Knight Theater’s Wells Fargo Auditorium Doors open at 6 p.m. with free cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Jessica Martin of Genesis Rehab Services will lead a free program, “Exercising Helps Keep You Smart: The Effects of Exercise on Cognitive Decline,” Dec. 9 at The Ivey Memory Wellness Day Center, 6030 Park South Drive. It will be offered twice, from 2-3:30 p.m. and again from 6-7:30 p.m. Reservations: 704-909-2070. With advance notice, care can be provided for loved ones with cognitive decline.
