Although you may know Charlotte charity HopeMatch as a Christmas program designed to match families in need with local donors, the goal of the program is to work with families throughout the entire year with different events that are aimed to give them a "hand up" and not just a hand out.
Their upcoming “Swap Shop” event will do just that, as they encourage the families they serve to donate gently used items they don't need anymore for items they do need. And best of all, anyone in the community is welcome to "swap" items or donate and get a tax receipt, or to come and shop paying a small amount for the items they want to purchase.
There are also volunteer opportunities on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th and volunteers get to shop early.
