The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra presents a free outdoor performance of music of movie and TV themes at the Uptown Pops in Romare Bearden Park in on Friday, June 9. The evening is free and appropriate for all ages, and will be followed by a free outdoor screening of The Goonies.
Patrons are welcome to bring their own picnic or can purchase delicious and eclectic food from a variety of eight (8) food trucks that will be featured at the event: Mae's Creole Kitchen, Maki Taco, Comfort Food on Wheels, Cheese to the Mac, The Plated Palette, The Cool Zone, Street Spice International and Mexican Fusion. Additionally, King of Pops and Cloud 9 will have stands in the park for the evening.
Guests are also given a chance to participate in the EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES initiative to fight AIDS. Bank of America will donate $.40 of each purchase at participating food trucks when a Bank of America debit or credit card is used. EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES is an annual event which invites the culinary world to assist in the fight against AIDS.
