Monday, January 11

Free donuts to celebrate the Panthers! Head to the Square on the corner of West Trade and South Tryon streets to get one free original glazed doughnut from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from the Krispy Kreme mobile oven. Carolina Panthers Charities will be accepting donations throughout the day and the event will also feature appearances by Sir Purr and the Panthers drumline. For details, click here.

Saturday, January 16

City of Charlotte MLK Holiday Parade 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 11th and North Tryon to Stonewall and South Tryon. Participants include high school marching bands, steppers, Greek letter fraternities and sororities, social and community service organizations as well as city and county elected officials, and religious and community leaders. The main stage is at Levine Avenue of the Arts.

Charlotte Museum of History, at 3500 Shamrock Drive, is presenting a program on Martin Luther King, Jr., on Saturday, January 16th, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It’s free to attend but you should register in advance.

Family Night at the Charlotte Hornets. Watch as the Hornets play the Bucks at Time Warner Cable Arena at 7pm. Family plans start at $60 for 3 tickets, 3 hotdogs, and 3 drinks for $60. Other options available at their website.
