St. Patrick’s Day may not be until March 17, but the Irish fun is already hitting the Queen City. There are plenty of ways to celebrate this weekend, and thanks to Charlotte on the Cheap, we’ve got all the details for the fun. Don’t forget to wear your green and avoid the pinch of the leprechuans!

Saturday, March 12

Green River Revival Festival at U.S. National Whitewater Center: Saturday, March 12th. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free. Live music from Hip Abduction, The Last Bison and Blind Pilot.. At 1:00 p.m. the whitewater river turns green. There’s a charge for parking, and activities at the center incur a charge. Also there’s a 5K in the morning.

Latta Celtic Festival: Saturday, March 12th, and Sunday, March 13th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, ages 5 and under are free. Historic demonstrations, live music, food, drink, storytelling and more. Historic Latta Plantation.

A.C. Moore Make & Take: This month kids create a lucky rainbow hanger.

Sunday, March 13

Latta Celtic Festival: Saturday, March 12th, and Sunday, March 13th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, ages 5 and under are free. Historic demonstrations, live music, food, drink, storytelling and more. Historic Latta Plantation.

Thursday, March 17

St. Patrick’s Day on Main: Thursday, March 17th, 4:30pom to 9:30pm. Free. This festival in Rock Hill is worth the drive. Irish music and dancing on the stage, amusement area for kids, vendors.

Leaping Leprechauns: Thursday, March 17th, 5 p.m., at Reedy Creek Nature Center. For kids age 5-10. Find all the Leprechauns in the nature preserve and you can win a prize. Free.

Saturday, March 19

Charlotte Goes Green Festival: Saturday, March 19th, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Free. Popular festival in Uptown Charlotte. There’s lots of entertainment, vendors and a kids’ amusement area.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Saturday, March 19th, 11:00 a.m. Free. The parade draws over 70,000 spectators. It steps off from Tryon and 9th Streets.

St. Patrick’s Treasure Hunt: Saturday, March 19th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. McDowell Nature Preserve. Self-guided treasure hunt for all ages. Free.
