Moving firm to help single moms, babies

Observer Staff Reports

A Charlotte moving company is sponsoring a drive to collect car seats, backpacks, suitcases and diapers to help single mothers and their babies, in observance of Mothers Day.

Two Men and a Truck will collect the items from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Target store on the Blakeney shopping center, on Rea Road in southeast Mecklenburg County. Donations will be given to Florence Crittenton Services, which provides a variety of services for single mothers and their babies.

The company says its goal is to collect enough supplies to last a year -- 100 car seats and as many backpacks, suitcases and packs of diapers as possible. Target, Starbucks and Two Men and a Truck will provide gifts for donors, and B rixx Pizza and Chick-fil-A will provide food at the collection site.
