So we just sent our May issue off to press … meaning it was time for me to celebrate. I invited a few girlfriends over to hang out for some drinks and easy apps; nothing fancy, just a good girls night out.
Girls will be girls and we hate to come to someone else’s house empty–handed. Two of my friends held true to the theory, bringing this super–cute “Queen” set – one 4–pack of melamine appetizer plates with a drink holder, and two plastic wine glasses (also from the “Queen” line) to match. How cute were these?!

I was familiar with the Lolita brand before my get–together; another friend had gotten me an adorable martini glass ornament for Christmas, also adorned with fun designs. But I wasn’t aware of all of the fabulous products she carried until I visited her web site the next day. The most well known (in my case) were the wine and martini glasses, each themed and each containing a relating recipe on the bottom of the glass. A surprise to me, her product lines also include candles, bottle stoppers, canteens, travel bags, clothing and much more. I also learned that (get this) her inspiration had also started with a girls night out. Who knew?! She started her business out of her basement with two toddler girls. As if I didn’t already like her products, now I feel like I know her … and that I like her, too!
The good news is that now I know exactly where to go when I need a gift for any get–together, be it a birthday party, a going away party, or just the infamous girls night out. You can find Lolita products locally or online at www.designsbylolita.com .
